GFA and Sports Ministry Announce Björkegren as Interim Black Stars Head

The Ghana Football Association and the Ministry of Sports and Recreation have announced Kim Lars Björkegren as interim head of the Black Stars technical team for November's 2027 AFCON qualifying double-header against Somalia.
He will be joined by former Ghana internationals Ibrahim Tanko and Godwin Attram as assistants, with Fatawu Dauda as goalkeeping coach and additional backroom staff joining for the window.
Recommended by the Coach Search Committee after reviewing qualified candidates, the interim arrangement aims to provide leadership and stability while the search for a permanent head coach continues.
Officials revealed that the new backroom team offers the ideal blend of international and local expertise, reaffirming full operational support for both the Black Stars and Black Queens.
