Ella had known Brian for just 6 months, but the chemistry was undeniable. They'd met at a friend's party, laughed, and vibed instantly (love at first sight, I guess). The next thing she knew, they were inseparable. But as their relationship progressed, something felt off. Every conversation led to one thing: sex. Brian was gorgeous, no doubt, but Ella wanted more. she wanted to know his thoughts, his dreams, his fears, among others. Instead, their interactions were like a checklist: meet, eat, sleep. No depth, no connection. One night, as they lounged in Brian’s apartment for their normal routine, he leaned in for a kiss but Ella pulled back gently and asked, "Can we talk?". Brian smiled, expecting the usual pillow talk. "What's up?" he asked "I'm lost, Brian, "Ella said, with a sincere voice. "I thought we'd connect, really connect. But it's like we're stuck in a loop. "Brian’s expression shifted, confused. He asked, "What do you mean? We're good, right?" simultaneously. Ella sighed. "Sex is great, but there's more to us than this, isn't there? What about our passions, our goals, our dreams? "Brian looked away, uncomfortable. The silence that followed was loud. Maybe they'd hit a wall, or maybe they'd just started seeing the real picture. As Ella waited for his response in vain, she realized: current relationships trend needs a rethink. Is it just about the physical, or is it about building something real? Must it always center around intimacy or there’s more to it? The most interesting part; the day Ella opted to come clear and deny Brian sex, was the last day of their relationship. To Brian and 99 other guys, a lady can only bring her body in the form of intimacy to a relationship. Any other thing is a want, not a need.
